Site-specific installation. Wedding dress, soundscape, sand and light. La Cárcel de Segovia, Spain.

I contemplated one of the cells of the former prison of Segovia, and I saw my wedding dress.

Both the cell and the dress carry memories, traces and symbolic meanings. They hold individual and collective stories, desires, expectations and projections through which we are shaped and transformed.

Suspended from the ceiling, the dress appeared to float above the sand-covered floor. Sound and light inhabited the cell, creating a space where the dress's material presence seemed to dissolve into echoes.

A passage between confinement and transformation, presence and absence, what we carry and what we leave behind.
